When?

Oh how he wants one! Everett is patiently waiting for his first knife. He looks at them in stores and in store ad's. He wants to know when he can have one. Any suggestions? My feeling is based on maturity and when he can be responsible with it (which I think he can do). What do you think?

Ben got one when he completed the safety requirements in the cub scout book. I can't remember if it was in Bear or Wolf.

Our boys got theirs when they were 8. Eric took them camping and began the conversation about being a man. They were both more than ready to handle it. Good luck.

Hey Tami! I'm friends with a wonderful homeschooling family of 8 (with another on the way!), and the father has a tradition of giving each of his children a swiss army knife at the age of 9 (with plenty of instruction of course). That's the age they've chosen and I've seen all the children use their knives appropriately and wisely (and handily I might add). Love to you! ~ Camee :)
